Macromolecular Oxime Ester Photoinitiator OXE-02: A High-Efficiency, Low-Yellowing UV Curing Solution
OXE-02 is an efficient photoinitiator of N-ethylcarbazole oxime esters. It has good thermal stability, high photosensitive activity, low migration, high reactivity, and excellent anti-yellowing properties. It is suitable for the production of high-pigment colored photoresistive etchants and black matrices with high optical density. It is also applicable to fields such as coatings, inks, and 3D printing resins, which can significantly enhance the curing efficiency and reduce the residue of byproducts.
1. Chemical Structure
2. Features and Advantages
★ High Reactivity :
It decomposes rapidly under ultraviolet light (in the UV-A or UV-B band), initiating the polymerization of monomers or prepolymers.
★ Low Odor/Low Migration :
Compared with traditional initiators, OXE-02 has less residue, making it suitable for fields with high purity requirements such as food packaging or electronic devices.
★ Yellowing Inhibition :
The decomposition products have a light color, reducing the yellowing phenomenon of materials after curing.
★ Broad Compatibility :
It is suitable for various systems such as acrylates and epoxy resins.
3. Photoinitiation Mechanism
OXE-02 is a type of free radical photoinitiator, and its mechanism is as follows:
★ Light Absorption :
After absorbing ultraviolet light, the oxime ester bond (-CO-N=) undergoes homolytic cleavage.
★ Generation of Free Radicals :
Acyl oxygen radicals and imino radicals are generated, which further decompose into active free radicals.
★ Initiation of Polymerization :
Free radicals attack the double bonds of monomers, triggering a chain reaction.
4. Applications
★ Printing Inks : Offset printing, flexographic printing, inkjet printing.
★ Electronic Materials : Photoresists, PCB solder mask inks.
★ 3D Printing : SLA/DLP photocuring resins.
★ Adhesives : UV-curing adhesives.
5. Precautions for Use
★ Dosage : Usually 0.5%–3% of the formulation (optimization required according to the system).
★ Light Source Compatibility : Recommended for use with 365 nm or 395 nm LED UV light sources.
★ Storage Conditions : Keep away from light, at a low temperature (<30°C), and in a dry environment.
